How to treat an internal hemorrhoid?

My proctologist insists that there is no treatment for that and only gave me a Dieting List and suggested light exercise. He also mentioned that since there is no blood in my stools yet there is no point in removing it surgically. He says that it can only be dealt with later on when the hemorrhoid is External. But I really wouldn’t want that to happen. So is there another treatment in order to prevent or even possibly cure the hemorrhoid? Doctors’ answers would be much appreciated and those who have similar diagnosis. Thank you.
